RECORDING

TECHNIQUES

In our Advanced Recording Techniques module, we’ll show you all there is towards implementing recording techniques in the studio. Recording music is an art that requires technical knowledge and a dash of creativity. Traditionally, the way to learn audio engineering was to “shadow” under an experienced engineer in a professional studio for numerous years in order to absorb core concepts, through execution & repetition. MusicMastermind.TV is a digital alternative that still remains true to the core learning process but without the hassle of being “selected” for the opportunity of “shadowing” under an engineer or spending years inside a professional recording studio. Having our knowledge documented on video speeds up the learning process since it can be replayed without limits, making subjects sink into the user’s memory at their own pace.

Let’s see what’s inside our Advanced Recording Techniques module…

Advanced recording techniques | music recording techniques
1
We start the module by studying basic audio principles and how they’re reflected in the modern studio environment.
2
We’ll learn everything there is to analog recording & gear as well as basic recording concepts independent of digital systems.
3
At this stage, we’ll look into the digital side of recording and how we translate analog information into the digital realm and back.
4
In this final stage we will look at advanced recording techniques for every major instrument family and how to get the best sound possible, regardless of who or what you are recording.

CORE AUDIO PRINCIPLES

The module starts off by analyzing core concepts regarding audio and how they’re placed in context towards music recording techniques. Moreover, we break down fairly complex technical topics into simple & digestible concepts anyone can understand, followed up by practical examples of their application towards recording music.

RECORDING BASICS

An integral part of engineering is knowing your way around gear and understanding basic music recording principles. In the Advanced Recording Techniques module we initially focus on learning all microphone types & their operation in the studio/stage for later development in further submodules.

MUSIC RECORDING TECHNIQUES

Once we get a good grasp on the foundation of music recording, we dive into advanced music recoding techniques. We’ll show you all of the top tip, tricks & techniques we’ve used to capture an award-winning sound at Noisematch Studios & how you can apply them at home, even if your setup is smaller and completely different. The music recording techniques you learn, still apply to the home studio environment.
